ATAKers

It goes without saying (but occasionally it's worth stating) how fortunate I am to work with such a dedicated group of socially maladjusted creatives (including the guy behind the lens).
Thanks guys for flying halfway around the world to hang some pictures, sleep on floors, and scribble in a couple books.

PS... In the event of a futile water landing, and to ensure posthumous pioty, I forward dated this entry to post while flying 30,0000' above the Pacific.

BLOODWORK: TOKYO SWAN SONG

The path of the BloodWork: Sleeves project has come to it's conclusion at the Last Gallery in Tokyo. Fitting gallery name.
I'd shed a tear recalling the long road traveled had I not been preoccupied have so much goddamn fun along the way.
Thanks again everyone for all of your support.

BLOODWORK: TOKYO TOWER

Tokyo Tower book signing... Some things you don't envision the processes of life granting you.

However, we only sold one copy of BloodWork. More than half the people came for REZISTR tags in blackbooks and on various garments...
 Better n' diggin' ditches.

BLOODWORK: WEEKEND

Okay enough kudos. We had a decidedly superb weekend. Exhibition, tat con, Halloween, prodigious dinners with all of our comrades, good times.

BLOODWORK: REENTRY

Now that the adrenalin has been completely, although temporarily, depleted from our suprarenal glands, I/we feel like we/I just ran a two year marathon. For' we get back to work, let's take just a sec to reflect...
BLOODWORK: SLEEVES

To everyone who showed up to the exhibition at Anno Domini. Terrific evening. Your continued support helps to drive the next undertaking, and the next,
et cetera, et cetera. Thank you.

Thanks also to all who contributed countless hours of their lives working on this labor of love. Max Dolberg, Eric Powers, Mark Heaps were the guys at mission control who deserve more credit than they'll ever receive for their contributions.

To all of the collectors, some of whom made great migrations to the photo shoot locations. Its reassuring to know serious collectors out there have a broad view of tattooing, able to see the benefit and importance of contributing to these types of undertakings.

Most importantly we have to extend ridiculous thanks, love, and respect to all of the tattooers who graciously contributed their works to BloodWork: Sleeves.
This is really what its all about.

In the war against cultural apathy we have all risen victorious from yet another battle.

Hi 5's

BLOODWORK: SLEEVES: EXHIBITION

Comrades,

Please join us for the exhibition and book release of the BloodWork: Sleeves Project on Thursday Oktober 29 at Anno Domini.

On display will be all sixty seven sleeves produced for this amazing undertaking. Additionally, several large motion graphic projections of the sleeves will be running. Last but not least, the completed book will be available for acquisition. The lowest numbered copies available of this 350 page hand numbered limited edition of 1500 will be released at the Okt 29 event. First come first serve.

Later in the evening we will be celebrating the ATAK two year anniversary/BloodWork afterparty across the street from the exhibiting gallery at the Agenda. Free to all.

Also, on Okt 30 ATAK tattooer Jim Miner will be showcasing a selection of paintings from a new series he is undertaking at the always delicious cafe Good Karma. Should be an interesting sneak peek of things to come from Jim.

And dont forget to attend the 2009 San Jose Convention of the Tattoo Arts taking place Okt 30, 31 & Nov 1.

Thanks always for your support!

BLOODWORK: BACK ACHES

17,195 lbs... reiteration, we just unloaded seventeen thousand one hundred and ninety five pounds of books. Takashi, Marcus, Blake, Sibel, Tony & I got seriously mancore on the twelve pallets. The physical hangover is already creeping into my body tissue.

Of course this complaint of my/our minor physical ailments is overshadowed by the fortunate fact that we have the books in hand!! The arrival of which has drastically reduced the risk of me having a grand maul anxiety attack>>postal nervous breakdown>>checkout.

So now we're busy packing all the books into their individual mailing cases. First come serve...

BLOODWORK: STENCILING

More work on the mailing case stencil. Marcus at the wheel. After thirty minutes of rolling the whole workspace reeks of the heart swiftening scent of MARSH vapor. Is fun.

BLOODWORK: OUTPUT

Max has been outputting the images for the exhibition. Terrible large. I think they're 24 x 60.

BLOODWORK: OUTPUT
Similar note, UPS just dropped off the fist sewer pipe full of prints from Max. Tube was smashed... most of them were not salvageable. Turns up my anxiety level up one more notch.

BLOODWORK: STENCIL

Putting the final touches on the stencil for the mailing case. Anyone who acquires a copy of BloodWork at the Okt 29th exhibition, orders one from the site, or stops into the workspace to pick one up, gets a properly hand stenciled mailing case to place their book into.
